Increase Environmental Awareness: SMAK Bogor Students Hold Educational Visit to EJIP WATEC

On Wednesday, 31 July 2024, fifty students from SMK-SMAK Bogor made an industrial visit to WATEC EJIP. The purpose of the visit is to gain an in-depth understanding of the environment and the company's operations.

During the industrial visit, four teams were divided into environmental, operational, laboratory and occupational health and safety (OHS) teams. The event began with a presentation of material by the OHS team.

The OHS team provided the students with safety induction material and emphasised the importance of safety in the working environment.

Our company's environmental team enthusiastically explained the B3 chemical waste contamination, related environmental rules and regulations, and the activities of the environmental emergency response team (TDL). Experience in dealing with environmental emergencies is also shared by the TDL team.

Our operations team explains the clean water process, the clean water jar test and the wastewater treatment process. They also discuss obstacles that may be encountered in daily operations.

In addition, the laboratory team introduced the laboratory equipment and activities carried out in the company laboratory. An understanding of sampling officers and an in-depth introduction to the WATEC EJIP division were also presented.

It is hoped that this visit will give the students of Bogor SMK-SMAK an insight into environmentally friendly industrial practices and promote their interest in environmental science and technology.
