Stay Vigilant Against Wildfire Risks!
14 August 2024
The dry season triggers a high risk of land fires. It is important for us to know the causes and prevention of potential fires.
Based on the BNPB's risk assessment document, the potential danger of forest and land fires in South Cikarang is considered high.
To help prevent fires, let's cut grass and plants regularly, avoid burning rubbish and littering cigarette butts.
By cutting the grass regularly, we can avoid fires caused by dry grass friction. Thick bushes can also hinder early fire detection. Do not pile leaves in open areas as they can cause fires, so it is better to remove piles regularly.
Burning rubbish can also have a number of negative effects. Smoke from burning waste can cause irritation and respiratory problems, and burning waste can spread to combustible materials and plants around the burning area. Fires that spread to neighbouring areas can quickly become difficult to control. Carelessly discarded cigarette butts can also cause fires.
In the EJIP 2022 Estate Regulation, undeveloped or developed areas are to be kept free of bushes and shrubs and landscaped appropriately. In addition, all yards and courtyards must be kept free of bushes and shrubs and neatly trimmed.
Please inform EJIP if you find tall grass in the area or if a mowing team is required.
Let's take better care of the environment!
